My Flea Market Finds!

twice in one day. wow! let's hope I can keep this up! :)

Jonathan and I had a GREAT day today looking at different Flea markets! I had no idea what cool stuff they have if you just look beyond all the junk!
Well as i said earlier my Better Homes and Gardens magazine/website http://www.bhg.com/ has inspired/taught me how to decorate our apartment cheaply with things that I get from flea markets or antique stores. So i put what i have learned into use today!

These were .99 cents each!!! They are a bit dusty but with a little love (and pledge) they will be perfect to arrange on the walls in our bedroom!

this is how they will be mounted on the wall! :)
Jonathan is going to get some wood for us to treat and paint to set on top of them so we can actually store stuff on them! I'm so excited!!!

Along with the 3 iron wall mounts I got 2 'certificate frames' (each .99 cents as well) that I am going to paint white and either use as actual picture frames or arrange scrapbook paper in them and make a neat collage for our bedroom. (another idea from BHG).

Since I already have the paint for the frames and the iron wall mounts need no fixing up (for now) I can decorate 2 out of 4 walls in my bedroom for only $5!!!

Well what a busy but fun day it has been. :)
Pictures of my flea market finds once they are put to use will come!

Today's Adventure.....Flea Market!

Lately I have been uuber interested in redecorating my living room and bedroom but being poor seminary students we definitely don't have the extra cash to blow so Better Homes and Gardens has directed me to the flea markets and antique stores. SO that's my adventure plans for today. To go shopping for unique (and cheap) things to use to decorate our apartment. this should be interesting! Have a great day!

BEAutiful Day!

I have been planning to sit outside on my balcony all week!!!
when i woke up this morning i didn't even turn on the television!
instead...i brought my computer outside and caught up on some tv shows.
haha.
no but seriously. its gorgeous outside. this is the kind of weather i dream of!
I don't know how much Molly and Sissy like it though.
they definitely weren't fans when we first came out
but i think they have warmed up to the idea.
i mean all they do is lay around anyway!!! lol.
I LOVE FALL. :)

I need some sense...Fashion Sense.

If I had the money, before i would hire a housekeeper or a cook i would hire a personal shopper!
someone to help me pick out clothes.
i hate looking like i am 14, but i know they way i dress is part of it.
so...i need someone to show me what to wear.
i like to be comfortable, but i still want to look good.
or.....at least not like a 14 year old. :)
I have styles that i like, but i can never find clothes to fit
im no skinny minnie, which basically makes it impossible to find cute clothes that fit.
another thing is i'm not going to spend a fortune on clothes.
that's just stupid.
which is yet another thing that makes finding clothes for me so difficult.
i need some help!!!

Homemade Dog Treats!!!

So as Carly and I were looking through  Books-A-Million yesterday I saw a dog treat cookbook!
this really caught my interest!
so i decided to look up different dog treat recipes and they have TONS of them!
im excited to start baking Molly and Sissy dog treats!
i'm sure they will be yummy!
and they are made with regular person ingredients so maybe they will be good for people too! :)

Blue Bayou with the Family! :)

Well yesterday was the ExxonMobil family picnic at Blue Bayou.
Jonathan and I only ended up riding one big water slide, only because
my great niece Ava begged us to go with her! :) but the day was great!
We played bingo, but the announcer was calling the numbers wayyy to fast!
we played 20 games of bingo in 45 minutes! WOAH!
My great nephew sang karaoke, he is a great singer for being only 10 yrs. old.
everyone loved him! :)
I didn't ride any of the rides at Dixie Landin' due to my very sensitive motion sickness.
I knew that would be nothing but disastrous.
there were sooo many people there this year, definitely more than last year.
but still not as many people who are there during the Blue Bayou regular season.
Well, off to church. Praying for a short day today! :)

Have a blessed day!

God's Calling....and it's not comfortable.

God has recently burdened my heart for the people that the American church often rejects and looks down upon. Jesus did NOT spend his time and minister to the religious people of His day, he went to the tax collectors, the prostitutes, and the ones the religious people REJECTED. As Christians we strive to be like Christ, yet all we do is sit in a pew on Sunday morning, sing some songs, and listen to a sermon. NEWS FLASH: Jesus didn't do that!
My eyes have been opened to the horrific realities of the sex industry and human trafficking. Millions of women and CHILDREN are trafficked each year. Victims of human trafficking do not ask for this lifestyle, they are either forced or tricked into it. We are called to be the light in the darkness, well the darkness is all around us screaming for us to show them the love of Christ.
I feel God calling me to minister to those involved in the sex industry and the victims of human trafficking. God is definitely calling me out of my comfort zone but I am so excited to see how and where He is going to use me to minister to these ladies. Please be in prayer for the ladies involved, and the ministries who are trying to reach and rescue them!
A21 is a campaign striving to abolish human trafficking. Please please go to their website and become familiar with what is really going on around us. Here is their website, check it out! http://www.thea21campaign.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=151&Itemid=306&lang=en
